What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use My RV Journal, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over your data. By creating an account and using the app, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Your name and email address when you create an account
• Travel journal data — trips, stops, dates, ratings, and notes you enter
• Vehicle information — make, model, VIN, license plate, tire pressures, and related details
• Photos you upload to trips, stops, or vehicle records
• Feedback and bug reports you submit through the app

Information collected automatically

• Basic account activity such as when you log in
• Technical information your browser sends when connecting to our servers (such as IP address and browser type), which is standard for any web application

Information we do NOT collect

• Your location or GPS data
• Information from third-party social media accounts
• Any data from your device beyond what you explicitly enter or upload

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies as needed to support core functionality of the app, such as keeping you securely signed in between visits. We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking, or analytics, and we do not use any third-party cookies.

Because any cookies we use are strictly necessary to provide the app you've asked to use — rather than for advertising, tracking, or analytics — we do not display a cookie consent banner. You can block or delete cookies through your browser's settings at any time, though doing so will sign you out and may affect how the app behaves.

How We Use Your Information

My RV Journal is currently in a free testing period, and paid subscriptions are not yet active. The references to Stripe and subscription payments below describe how things will work once subscriptions launch — no payment data is currently being collected or shared, because there is nothing yet to pay for.

We use your information only to provide and improve the app. Specifically:

• To create and maintain your account
• To store and display your travel journal and vehicle data
• To process subscription payments (via Stripe, our payment processor)
• To respond to feedback or support requests you send us
• To improve the app based on how it is used

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not use your travel or vehicle information for any purpose other than displaying it back to you.

How We Store Your Information

Your data is stored using Supabase, a database platform built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure based in the United States. Your data is encrypted in transit (using HTTPS) and at rest. Passwords are never stored — Supabase uses industry-standard secure hashing so that no one, including us, can read your password.

Photos you upload are stored in Supabase Storage, also hosted on AWS. Your photos are private by default and only accessible to your account.

Who We Share Your Information With

We share your information only with the following third-party services that are necessary to operate the app:

• Supabase
• Vercel
• Stripe (once paid subscriptions launch — see note above)

We do not share your data with any other third parties, advertisers, data brokers, or analytics platforms.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access
• Correction
• Deletion
• Export

If you are located in the European Union or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA respectively. Please contact us if you would like to exercise any of these rights.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all of your data — including trips, stops, journal entries, vehicle information, and photos — is permanently deleted immediately. We do not keep backups of deleted accounts.

Feedback you submit may be retained to help improve the app, but it will not be associated with your account after deletion.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a security breach that compromises your personal information, we will notify affected users without unreasonable delay and in accordance with applicable Colorado law, so that you can take any steps you feel are necessary to protect yourself. Notification will be sent to the email address associated with your account and will describe what happened, what information was involved, and what we are doing in response.

Children's Privacy

My RV Journal is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
